The corcoduşi (wild plums) have gone crazy 🌸🌸🌸 So, without further ado, we are announcing the first nature walk of the year 🌸🌸🌸 On Sunday, 31.03 at 11:30 AM, we will meet to explore a lesser-known trail in Herăstrău Park.
The walk will be guided by professor, biologist, and ecology expert @manuela_concioiu, who will help us better understand our plant friends that we’ll encounter along the way 🍃
Manuela will talk to us about:
🌳 Lichens and what they tell us about biodiversity and pollution levels in the areas where they appear.
🪵 The “wood wide web” – how trees communicate with each other, and how important they are for biodiversity, even the cut-down ones! Lil’ spoiler: as tall as they are above, they go just as deep below!
🍄 The mushroom caps that grow on tree bark – also known as “Iască” – not only ultra-Instagrammable, but also edible at the right time of the year.
🌰 Foraging – how healthy it is and what we should know before we start eating wild garlic or lamb’s lettuce from parks.
🪂 IMPORTANT 🪂
📲 To register, DM with your name and email – you’ll receive all the information you need next week.
💸 The recommended contribution is 50 lei. If you can’t afford to pay or want to make a smaller donation, you are still more than welcome to join!
📍 The meeting spot is the entrance to Herăstrău Park in the Aviației neighborhood – the intersection of Aron Cotruș Street and Șoseaua Nordului.
⏰ The walk will last about an hour to an hour and a half and will be slow-paced: we’ll stop to observe, smell, touch, and marvel at what we find along the way.
☀️ At the moment, the forecast for next Sunday is 24°C!
📸 Photos will be taken at the event. These are necessary for promoting Club Clorofilă’s activities on social media in the future. If you don’t want to appear in them, please let us know on the day of the event.
❕ If there are any accessibility needs or specific requirements that we should take into account, please write to us.
